I know I have talked about future attractions in the Past but I am sure now:D:D:D.:)
look at this
(1/30/08) Screamscape has been informed that the flagship Schlitterbahn waterpark (New Braunfels) will be adding several new attractions for the 2008 season. We don’t know what they all are yet and we expect the official announcements to be forthcoming over the next few months, but we have confirmed at the very least that we will see an all new kids area with new elements and a character meet ‘n greet too. (Does Schlitterbahn even have characters?). As for thrills for the bigger guests, all we know is that a heavily themed family thrill attraction is on the way.
Yay I am so exited. What could the new thrill attraction be:D.

Formal announcements.... we look for formal announcements. Keep an eye out, and as soon as you see a formal announcement from/by Schlitterbahn themselves, post the link!

It seems to me that you're the one putting the big rumors on this thread.
You do realize you can only trust about 2% of what is on Screamscape, Right? Everything else is just Rumors that have no basis.

Also, try to use some common sense. Installing "several new attractions" at one of the most popular water parks in America for the upcoming season probably would have generated more serious publicity by mid-February than someone "informing" Screamscape.
Not saying it won't happen, but I have serious doubts.

There is a very large billboard on I-35 northbound in downtown SA with that teaser from Schlitterbahn on it. I dont have a pic, because that is a hairy stretch of freeway to do that on, but it is all black, has claw rips with red eyes peaking through, and says "Coming 2008" "Schlitterbahn Waterpark & Resort New Braunfels". If any of my SA peeps are driving by that area, it is on northbound I-35 on the right side, between the I-10 interchange and 281 interchange, next to the Baptist Medical Center.

Update - More machines have arrived next to the Blastenhoff tower! The Hansel and Gretale water playground is gone and new pipes are being instald in its place, maybe another tube shoot judging by the place the area sat, or a tube shoot extention.

Here is what I know! A park employee told me that Dragon Blaster is Becoming Dragon's Revenge. The ride will have special effects such as fog and lights!
The old Hansle and Grettle area is being replaced By Schate's central park, featuring 7 new attractions! 1 is a first of its kind! Heres the link to the Schate's central park Press Relise. http://www.schlitterbahn.com/news/press/releases/nb/3-25-2008-CentralPark.htm

Sounds cool. I like the name, Schatze, it's German for "Sweetheart" or "beloved"
For the record, it's Press Release. Not Relise. ;) And because I'm a German-freak, it's Hänsel und Gretel. :D
No biggie though. Sounds like Schlitterbahn is gearing more towards families, again. They've always been about families, and it's good to see them reinvest in that image.

I drive by the park almost once a week... I should try to get some pictures, but it's kind of hard to with where the majority of the construction is.
If Schlitterbahn wasn't ALWAYS packed, I think I'd go a LOT more. Maybe the week colleges are out, but high school is still in (in May) I'll go. Group trip anyone?

Man, that sounds like FUN... except I'm stuck in an 8-5 during the week. I have to do my 'playing' on the weekends. Bleh. :(

Dragon's Revenge looks great based on the video. I'll be anxious to hear the reviews once the ride opens up. It's easy to see why Schlitterbahn is constantly rated as the best waterpark.

Yes. Dragon's Revenge is open.
Based on my ride experience, it was a very well done renovation.
The effects are pretty cool, especially the "one angry dragon"
That's where I'm going to leave off, but I will say it was awesome.
That angry dragon LED or w/e it was was sooo amazing. The picture was so clear and the sound effects were awesome. I really liked the fake fire and spinning tunnel as well. The fog was really cool, but I didn't like the fact it was hard to see.
The entrance and line theming was well done as well.

Yes, Dragon's Revenge is a sweet little renovation for sure. The spinning tunnel, and the dragon at the end, are my favorite of the new effects; and while the fog does inhibit the view of the slide in front of 'you' in specific areas, that is part of the effect. What fun would a medieval castle be if 'you' could see what was ahead of 'you' in its tunnels and passage ways? :D
All I can say is, get to SchlitterBahn... if for nothing else but to see how they themed the ride on the exterior (it is VERY cool!) and to be impressed by the dragon. I'm still trying to figure out how this 'special effect' works!!
Very awesome, SchlitterBahn, very awesome!

Two things
Stacy, the Dragon is created by a projecter placed on top of the ceiling of the entrance into the tunnel where you encounter the Dragon.
Second I rode the ride yesterday and it was amazing! I loved every second of it.

Oh, I figured that much. It's the ability to project a 'picture' onto a sheet of misting water and have it look so 'real' that is amazing to me. It's just a very cool affect.
