New site layout debuted
Feb 15, 2008

As you may have noticed, things have changed a little bit around Fiesta Texas Online. We've revamped the template style, modernized the logo, made some major changes to the homepage including a few new information tickers, and changed a bit of back-end code so that we can edit the site a little quicker. Let us know what you think of the changes!

I like it.

However, on the forums, on the header image, the logo is all kinds of funky colors. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I don't believe it supposed to be like this. Do correct me if if I'm wrong.

I don't know but I still like it!:D
Mine is like that. Do you mean is it just your computer or is it an error?

Either.

I know on some servers, images will not be displayed properly. I've had a home server where my images were half loaded, and then the rest was discolored, and pixelated. It had nothing to do with the actual image itself, only the way the server relayed the image to the client.

I, however, do not like it. I seriously doubt it supposed to be like that.

Brandon said the logos were modernized. If the new logo for the forums is (left to right) red, yellow/blue, orange, etc., then that's what it's supposed to look like if everyone's seeing the same thing.

I like it, and I really like the new logo on the main site home page. I also like the park image on the right side of the header... the 'hint' of it in a sort of 'watermark' is nice.

As far as the changes on the main site, with respect to information tickers, that's great too. One thing I like, Brandon, is that each time you upgrade or update, you always make things easier, sensible, etc. That's nice. Most sites, when they upgrade, make the site more difficult to navigate, rather than easier. In my opinion, you do it right.

I like the Texas flag logo on the main site. But I'm sorry, I do not like the forum logo. It makes no sense, and looks like its not supposed to look that way. That's my only complaint.

I like the skyline header, that's awesome. The ticker is a great thing as well.

It is supposed to look that way. If you have noticed the past few forum logos have contained a wide range of colors and I have tried to implement additional colors to set the forums apart from the website (especially considering they have very similar layouts now). I have always tried to bridge the "Fiesta" part of Fiesta Texas into the site without taking it too far (ex. yellow/red/etc backgrounds). In this case, its supposed to be abstract piece similar to the Six Flags logo (don't want to copy it directly as we have done in the past) with a wide range of colors. In my eyes it makes very good sense given the past history of the logos on the forums, as well as establishing a difference between the regular site and forums for those who do not know the site very well. That's the logic behind it.

What's the "ticker" everyone is talking about? Did I miss something? Did I stumble into some bad lighting?

This is the ticker that was referenced earlier in the thread, although the current events box is similar as well.

It will eventually fill up to show 6 stories at once but hasn't yet. We plan on dropping the news/updates blog and replacing it with this. Haven't had the time to do it yet, but I'm sure I'll eventually format an RSS feed for it.

You have to visit the home page of the main site to find the 'tickers', J.D. Do you ever visit the main site??? LOL HAHA (j/k... you know I'm just messin' with ya...:p)

As I mentioned earlier, I was planning on formatting an RSS feed for the ticker. This is now available. Just click the orange RSS logo in the top right of the ticker box to be able to access the feed.
