I was getting ready to question how in the heck RCDB had information like that, before any kind of formal announcement had been made by Six Flags.

Just remember, joke or not, it makes no difference what you hear or see or read... it's best NOT to bombard SF with emails asking about this kind of information because they're not going to tell anyone in the general public anything. Formal Announcements... it's all about formal announcements.

So, where's your source? Remember, if you're going to state something as being fact, you must provide a source to back up the information. Otherwise it's rumor, and you know the deal about rumors....

You knowing wouldn't fall under the heading of "verifiable source"... and whether people want to believe your statement(s) isn't the point. The point is that if you're going to post something of this nature and are stating it as fact, you must provide a verifiable source to back it up.

We know all to well in the theme and amusement park industry that unless and until a formal announcement is made, any and all plans are subject to change (and sometimes they even change after announcements).

What happens to the land and businesses around the park can/could have a direct effect on the future/future plans of FT, so it is my personal opinion that this would fall under the rumor posting policy.

Getting people "wriled up" about possible future plans around the park can/could possibly have a negative effect; so unless there is a verifiable source to back up very 'matter of fact' statement(s), then it really can't be considered fact (again, since commercial business of this nature can and does often change, sometimes at the drop of a hat).

We have to be realistic, and keep things in proper perspective. Too many 'statements' like this on discussion forums get spread around online like wildfire, with any number of story ('fact') variations. I don't know about my fellow staff members, but I for one do not want anyone to think "we" (this discussion forum) were the original source for that kind of activity.
