My daughter noticed in the 2009 map/info brochure that at the Zaragosa will be a show this summer called Showstoppin'
Description:
"Join our live band and talented performers as they sing and dance through an explosion of today's high-energy, chart-topping favorites!":)
Hope this is true!!!! Cool!

Check out the link, it names some of the songs they will be singing, and there is also something about another new show," rocking the decades" in the streets of rockville. Can't wait for all the summer shows:D

Awww! Rats! I don't think I will make it back to SA in time to see it... That seems to be a great lineup addition!

Just thought I'd show this description of the new show "Showstoppin'".
Here's a quote from the May 1st release:

" This high energy musical showcase features a live band and 12 talented singers performing contemporary hits from an array of genres including pop, rock, R&B, and country with elaborate sets, couture costumes and special effects. Musical selections include “So What” by Pink, “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, “Kiss A Girl” by Keith Urban, “1, 2, 3, 4” by the Plain White T's and many more! " :)

Looks like a Summer crew will be coming in to do this show...?
Quite a large production !

No, its not outside talent coming into the park for the summer.... The cast is made up of some of the performers from the other shows. Think Monster Mash Bash but, during the summer and not in Lils...

Yeah--Saw it yesterday--awesome. They do a great job--even having to run back and forth. The adjusted schedule (less Rockville and Sundance shows) made that possible.

I'm probably the one one who wouldn't want to see this. Doesn't the park already have enough "singing" shows or what what. Bring back the BMX guys or the circus people. Who wants to sit through an act like this when there is a lot more potential?

Bring back the BMX guys or the circus people.

I have an opinion on this one. I think they made it another signin show because that is what people want to see. When I would go see Blast it was always empty. I liked the show a lot, but it didnt seeme like anyone else did. Same thing with the biking show. No one was ever there. When I saw the two Show Stompin shows on Saturday, it was packed. I think that is what people want to see in San Antonio. They love the singand dance shows.

One non-song-n-dance show I really liked was the Chinese acrobats. Blast was awesome to see a couple/three times too--but it can get a bit loud.
The BMX guys--I'd also seen a similar group (maybe the same) at Sea World--got burnt out on them after a while---I'd rather be riding bikes instead.

I guess it all boils down to a matter of personal preference, but personally 'they' can have the Chinese acrobats and the BMX bikers. I LOVED Blast!, and watched it many times last year... but then, we come from a band family, so that's our 'thing'.

As for this new show, I agree that this is the kind of show that those who come to FT want and look for. Rockin' at Rockville High would not have lasted as long as it has if that type of show wasn't popular, and they certainly wouldn't be a 10 (consecutive) year Golden Ticket winner for best shows in the country if people didn't like or want this kind of show.

And also considering the crowds that Mash Bash draws every October, it makes sense to do a similar type of show in Zaragoza for the summer months.

I agree that this show is like a Mash Bash, on a smaller scale. There aren't as many performers, and there isn't pyro going off everywhere (and sadly, I couldn't find Mayor Slayor... :p), but the show has the Mash Bash type music, performances, and energy, and I was so excited after seeing it... I will definitely be spending a lot of time in Zaragoza this summer!

I am more of a fan of Circo Magnifico, Chinese Acrobats and shows of that nature. However, they are much more expensive than a showstopper type show. Haven't seen it yet, but I am also along the lines of not another music show......but I am sure it works and is very good. Sometimes other factors dictate what show you have in Zaragoza and many times those factors are out of your hands.

This is true. Six Flags has obviously not had as much cash flow this year as in years past but the performers have really worked hard on their show schedule this year. All summer I saw a random show here and there but I never really payed attention to the way the show schedules work together until this past Saturday when I decided to see Forever Country [3:30], Rockin at Rockville [4:30], and Showstoppin [5:45] back to back. Many of the performers and crew do multiple shows and must finish a show cross the park in the heat and do a complete reset for the next show all within a thirty or forty five minute span of time - for that I commend them. Not to mention the shows are all very entertaining. I'd like to see the Circo Magnifico show as well but I completely enjoy seeing the "showstopper" shows. Sadly the season is almost over but the word on the street's - of Rockville that is - is that they're already working on Monster Mash Bash and I can't wait!

I went to see Showstoppin' for the first time this past week. It was marvelous. Simply put. Good songs, well sung, great cast... it all makes for a great show! Definetly something I'd recommend.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see Mash Bash, but I know Stacy will drag me to it! Haha!

Also, I saw Lone Star Spectacular for the first time in a loooong while. Nice firework display! Perfect way to end the day.

And if I have anything at all to say about it, it will be this October! :D

Mash Bash is definitely NOT something that can be missed. It's like Show Stoppin' on steroids. Wow. Just Wow. I can't wait for the return of Mayor Slayer and his posse.
