Default Park closes at 6 PM in August ???

I was just starting to plan my trip to SFFT next week (Aug 20-24) and noticed the park hours (according to the calendar on sixflags.com) are 10:30 to 6 PM. 6 PM??? And this week it closes at 8 PM. Didn't it used to be 9 PM? School is not in session til the following week. I'm not driving down from Round Rock for 6 PM.

If you get down there by opening, there's plenty of time to do everything before 6 since the park will not be that packed. As far as I know, Some of the San Antonio schools are starting school on August 20th. Go on Saturday, August 25th if you want the extra 2 hours but you really won't need them.

I disagree. I go to a park like this only about once a year, I spend 4 hours on the road, and I want a full day of rides. I already try to go when crowds are (relatively) thin. There's a big difference between a park being open 7.5 hours and 10.5 hours. Besides, the park is more fun at night, when it is cooler, breezy and the lights are on. Maybe the crowds are thin because they don't see the value here? Seems penny-wise and pound-foolish.
