Fright Fest offers popular attractions like “Necropolis,”
where guests will embark on a terrifying tour of a
haunted Texas town amid amazing special effects,
strobe lights, and eerie fog. From Scare Away
Boardwalk, guests will travel through “Metropolitan
Maul,”
a group of Necropolis’ scariest stores. A nominal
fee is charged for this attraction and ticket sales
begin at 2:30 p.m.
Throughout the night, our fearless Fright Fest
leader, Mayor Slayer, and his monster posse will
ride in scary style aboard a Halloween hearse. The
processional will travel along the Cliff Wall Train
Tunnel, so don’t miss this spooky spectacle!
Fright Fest’s shockingly entertaining shows include
“Last
Chance Legends”
in Purgatory Hall, AKA Zaragoza Theatre, where famed
entertainers from yesteryear will resurrect to
perform their “frightful” hits one last time! The
legendary lineup includes the Boos Brothers singing
“Soul Man,” Broken Bono and his partner, Scare,
singing “The Heartbeat is Gone,” and Pelvis Wresley
performing “All
Dug Up.”
In Sangerfest Halle, “Wolfman
Hack’s Creature Feature”
will present a cast of Fright Fest monsters singing
and dancing their hearts out for you. Don’t miss “Miss
Lollie’s Pops”
in Sundance Theatre and watch as Crackaxle Canyon’s
craziest citizens from beyond vie for the spotlight
with creepy country style in “Miss
Lollie's Crackaxle's Got Talent Auditions!”
Catch “Roni
y Los Vampiros”
in Teatro Fiesta, as Roni Garza and his musical
troupe take you on a journey of Latin intrigue and
rhythms.
Returning this year is “Mr.
Slithers Creepy Critters”
located at Crackaxle Train Station. Scare yourself
silly as the monstrous snakes and their creepy
cohorts slither your way in this popular exhibition!
Fright Fest has not forgotten the tiny goblins in
your party! We offer events for the little ones that
are low on the scare factor and big on fun, like “Looney
Tunes Spooky Town,”
where children age 12 and under may trick-or-treat
at Spooky Town Elementary with their favorite Looney
Tunes characters. At “Spookie
Cookie Pumpkin Town,”
kids can decorate cookies, paint pumpkins, or do
both. A fee of $2 is charged to decorate cookies, $4
for pumpkin painting, or for the best value, pay $5
to do both! Back again for the young
trick-or-treaters is “Cornelius,
the Not-So-Very-Scary Scarecrow,”
who will recount his not-so-very-scary tales, sing
and provide important Halloween safety tips. Kids
can also gather for a special “Bugs
Bunny and Friends”
storytime session with Granny, Tweety and Sylvester
on the Sangerfest Patio.
End the evening with a bang in Lone Star Lil’s
Amphitheatre, with our annual Fright Fest closing
show, “Mayor
Slayer’s Monster Mash Bash,”
featuring the frightful talents of dozens of singing
and dancing monsters! Backed by a live band, this
spooktacular concert experience of lights,
pyrotechnics and video projection screens will
thrill audiences with performances of popular tunes
with an eerie twist! A sample of the songs that will
be performed include, “S.O.S.” by Rihanna, “Dirty
Little Secret” by All-American Rejects, “All Fired
Up” by Pat Benatar, and a rousing rendition of
Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” that will knock your
socks off!
